Blackpool florist hits back after claims bride’s £80 daisy bouquet was a ‘rip off’

“I thought the posy was gorgeous and would look lovely for her,” Jeanette’s Florist said.

A florist in Blackpool has shared their devastated response after a bouquet prepared for a bride was slammed on social media as ‘extortionate’ and described as looking ‘like they have just been picked out of the garden.’

Libuse Parker, 44, got married on August 30. Her daughter, Eliska Opiolova, 20, explained that they had gone to Jeanette’s Florist on Highfield Road in Blackpool to order her mum’s special bouquet. £80 later, the family feel ‘ripped off’ and expected something ‘better’ for the big day.

The florist, which has operated its Blackpool location for over 50 years, has since shared a response to comments slamming the price tag as ‘extortionate’ and ‘not worth the money’. Colette, who runs the shop with her sister, told LancsLive if she had been offered the chance to rectify the situation, she would have.

Jeanette’s Florist is rated 4.7 stars overall according to previous customers on Google. Nicki Ramsay wrote: “Really impressed with a lady called Alex at jeanettes, she made us up a bouquet within the hour of popping in for our friends 40th! The flowers are absolutely stunning and we were more than impressed with the service! Love all the team from Salon 142”

Jane McEvoy added: “Thank you for the beautiful flowers for my Mother in Laws funeral on the 2nd of March. I told you what I wanted over the phone and they were perfect. The service was live streamed and a lot of people said the flowers were lovely.”

Eliska, whose mum wed on August 30, told LancsLive they had a different experience: “We went there and the lady seemed very accommodating she let us know that flower bouquet for the wedding would be costing her around £80. My mum told her she wanted lots of daisies in it and to make the bouquet look quite vintage and country-esque.

“She didn’t specify exactly what other flowers she wanted in it she just said she wanted it to look very floral. The lady said leave it with me I will make you up a nice big bouquet for £80.”
