Many previous guests have been so impressed by their visit to the hotel they left glowing reviews from their stays. Hotel Sheraton in Blackpool is rating 4.5 out 5 on review site TripAdvisor.
Some of the most recent reviews have praised the standard of quality at the hotel and the service provided. One guest left this review: “The hotel is warm, comfortable and beautifully decorated. The pool/jacuzzi is modern and very clean. Entertainment over festive breaks was varied and good quality. There was more to eat than anyone could manage. Staff are lovely, friendly and good fun.”
Another happy guest said: “Had an excellent Christmas four night stay. Really good value for money. Staff were excellent in all areas. Food first class and plenty of it. Quality in all areas. Strongly recommended. Thanks to everyone at Hotel Sheraton.”
One guest was left more than happy with their stay; “Visiting this hotel on my first ever Tinsel and Turkey holiday experience. I haven’t been disappointed. Absolutely fantastic place. Clean rooms, great food. Lovely atmosphere.
“Staff friendly and very helpful, special thanks to Gio and Liam in the restaurant for their fantastic and friendly service at meal times. The bar staff were great even to the point that they automatically put my brothers Coke in a San Miguel glass as he likes. Every member of staff we had dealings with was professional and really do the hotel a good service.
“The hotel itself is very well decorated. The pool area is highly recommended, it’s clean and well looked after. The rooms are comfortable and clean, the bed is very comfy, I only had one pillow on my bed but the reception staff efficiently sorted it out for me. I cannot fault the place I’ve had a brilliant time here. We have one full day left and I’ve got to say I will be sorry to go home but I most definitely will be back next year.”
However, among the four and five star reviews, is a two star review that stands out for it’s short message and negative review. The guest seemingly had a “decent” stay but offered some advice to bosses adding the place “need renovation”.
The full review states: “Smaller, place full of degenerated gamblers at the casino. Food is not that impressive but expensive even for travellers. I recommend staying there but explore the city with nice restaurant around town.”
While the guest seemed to be in the minority of negative reviews the hotel management seemed to quickly figure out why they were left which such a bitter taste in their mouth.
They had mistaken the Blackpool hotel for one with the same name in Vietnam, hotel bosses claimed, with the same reviewer also reviewing two places in Ho Chi Minh City on the same day they left the Blackpool review.
They stated that the Sheraton in Blackpool has no casino or pay as you go restaurant, as well as highlighting Blackpool’s lack of city status.
Managers of Hotel Sheraton replied: “I believe you may have posted your review to the wrong Sheraton. I can see from your profile you were travelling in Ho Chi Minh City in October as you reviewed two other places at the same time from your travels. Did you stay at the Sheraton in Vietnam?
“We are a family run Hotel Sheraton in Blackpool, England. We do not have a Casino or a pay as you go restaurant. We are not in a city either.”
The response was ended by a polite request to remove the comment once the true identity of the hotel was revealed. The managers continued to say: “If I am correct I would be grateful if you could remove your review as it could damage our reputation. I have reported this to TripAdvisor too to make them aware. Many thanks in advance.”
