The theme park on the Fylde coast scooped seven awards
Blackpool Pleasure Beach has won seven prizes at the UK Theme Park Awards. The coastal theme park‘s gongs include Gold Awards for Best Seaside Park, Best Live Entertainment for Hot Ice and Best Dark Ride for Wallace & Gromit’s Thrill-O-Matic.
It also took home three Silver Awards, which were Best Historic Ride for the Ghost Train, Best Steel Coaster for newly-revamped ICON and Best Wooden Coaster for the Grand National. Finally, the Fylde Coast attraction won a Bronze Award for Best Theme Park for Thrills.
The awards, which were held at Drayton Manor in Staffordshire, were run by Theme Parks UK, an independent consumer guide to the nation’s amusement parks, and voted for by the public with more than 204,000 votes recorded. Those votes were then combined with with the scores from a judging panel.
They recognise the best rides and attractions, shows and events with 18 parcs receiving awards. Best Steel Coaster and Best Wooden Coaster were both new categories while the top prize, Theme Park of the Year, went to Alton Towers.
