Blackpool’s Anchorsholme Park to hold four-day party to mark Platinum Jubilee

The party starts on June 2 with a Heritage Tram Parade around the tram circle south of the park

Blackpool’s Anchorsholme Park is poised to hold four days of celebration to mark the Platinum Jubilee – with people from across the Fylde coast invited.

The party starts on Thursday June 2 with a Heritage Tram Parade around the tram circle south of the park, followed by two days of events and finishing with a Jubilee junior park run on the Sunday morning. Attractions on the main days (June 3 and 4) include Blackpool Brass and Thornton Cleveleys Brass leading the music, with other acts including Blackpool Music School, Coasters and Trinitas Choirs.

The Circus School will also be present, the park’s new nine hole putting green will open and there will be free sports for children, market stalls, donkey rides and a dog show.

Anchorsholme Coun Paul Galley said: “After what everyone has been through over the last couple of years we want the entire community to come together and celebrate all that is good in the world and what better way than a big Jubilee Party. The line up we have gives something for everyone, it will be a truly special event and best of all, everyone is invited regardless of where you live or are from. This is a Fylde Coast event.”

Although the park has been in use for some time following a £100m investment in infrastructure by United Utilities, there will also be an official re-opening ceremony at 2pm on Saturday June 4.
