Any parent knows that Smiggle is the stationery store taking the world by storm
As parents look to contend with the cost of living crisis ahead of the busy – and expensive – Christmas period we’re all looking for ways to save cash.
And as many will know one shop which will undoubtedly feature on many kids’ wish lists this festive period is stationery store Smiggle. Branded as ‘where a smile meets a giggle’ Smiggle is the latest craze for kids of all ages with its vibrant, bold colours and quirky graphics emblazoned across lunchboxes, water bottles, scented pens, bags, alarm clocks and much more.
With over 100 stores across the UK, including in Preston, Blackburn, Blackpool and Carlisle, Smiggle has become so popular among youngsters that some schools have reportedly banned its products to prevent ‘poverty shaming’. And although the pencil cases and backpacks can be a tad too expensive for many families there is a little-known way of claiming a £5 voucher with no minimum spend.
As well as offering a rewards stamp scheme, allowing shoppers to earn money off when they shop in Smiggle, the Australian-based retailer also gives birthday boys and girls a special present during the month of their birthday. All you have to do is register on their website, enter your child’s date of birth, and you’ll receive a £5 voucher on the first of their birth month which can be redeemed online or spent in-store.
Smiggle bills itself as ‘a treasure trove of quirky and exciting products’ and its shelves are brimming with its trademark multi-coloured fluffy backpacks and notepads, glittery pencil cases and other sparkly stationery. Smiggle’s first UK store opened in 2014 with bosses predicting the United Kingdom will ‘unquestionably’ be the retailer’s biggest market globally.
