At this time of year in Blackpool, it’s all about the illuminations – and now pet owners can get involved in the fun too.
A workshop is being held for dog lovers tomorrow (September 26) giving them the chance to create their pet’s “dream illuminated outfit.”
Lightpool Festival are hosting a series of make-and-create ‘LumiDogs’ workshops across the town with the first one taking place tomorrow at the Old Electric community arts space on Springfield Road.
A workshop leader will provide a range of accessories, safe LED lights and materials for creative use and assist owners in making their four-legged friend’s very own Lumi jacket.
The sessions are free and last two hours in a dog-friendly and relaxed environment.
Phil Holmes, Creative Director of Lightpool Festival says: “This year’s Lightpool Festival gets underway with our ever-popular Lumidogs workshops, which are a great family fun-filled event where you can create bespoke light-up dog-wear for your pooch.
“Bring yourself and your four legged companion along to one of our six creative workshops and our creative workshop leader will guide and assist you into making your dog’s very own Lumi jacket!
“The workshops run at various locations throughout Blackpool, so release your inner creativity, lighten up your dog’s life and book your place now.”
All owners need to do is sign up and choose which workshop they would like to attend by filling in their details. Places are limited to ten dogs per session and only two people per dog are permitted for health and safety reasons.
During your chosen workshop a range of dog coats in different sizes will be provided and fitted but people are welcome to bring their own coat if preferred. It is preferable to bring old one that can be decorated.
All those taking part will be encouraged to bring their dog to a canine fashion show at The Illuminated Tram Parade on Wednesday October 27.
This will be followed by an illuminated dog-friendly walk around Lightpool Festivals spectacular art trail.
There will be plenty of videographers and photographers to capture the fun at the events.
