‘Toilet Paper Diaries’ An accessible comedy play

31 January @ 7:00 pm - 8:05 pm

£8.00

We meet thirty year old Eloise in a waiting room on a very important day, She’s waiting for something big and doesn’t know how to process it. We jump into her childhood diaries exploring what’s brought her to this moment. At nine years old Eloise is a happy child and promising ballerina with no doubt she is going to grow up to be a star. Then her periods start and completely derail her life turning it into a bloody mess. She’s thrown face first into a war against gaslighting doctors. They refuse to listen or believe her but she’s determined she will keep getting louder until someone hears. Eloise talks openly and bluntly about all things menstruation and menopause. A heartbreaking and hilarious tale which anyone with endometriosis or another condition which has led to medical gaslighting will instantly recognize.

Toilet Paper Diaries has access at the heart of the play and includes embedded creative captions, audio description and BSL interpretation.

The play is written and performed by Porcelain Delaney and is semi-autobiographical. Porcelain is an established theater maker who prioritizes creative access. She has worked with: the BBC, Royal Shakespeare Company, Factory International and many more. In 2024 between debuting three new works and touring existing works she filmed for an exciting new Netflix series. Porcelain grew up in Blackpool and is looking forwards to visiting.

Toilet Paper Diaries development was supported by Arts Council England, Graeae, Manchester Independents and DaDa Fest.

Toilet Paper Diaries has toured the UK and Ireland receiving five star reviews. The show begins its first international tour later in 2025.
