Get on your bike and ride down the promenade
The nights will soon shine bright for several months when the Blackpool Illuminations are officially switched on for 2022, on September 3. But for those who simply cannot wait to experience the magic of travelling through the six miles of colour before the masses and are looking for a sneak preview, then there’s one special way to do it.
But they’ll need one very important thing; a bike. For one night only, the resort’s promenade will be closed to traffic, giving thousands of cyclists the opportunity to Ride The Lights ahead of the switch-on concert. This year’s edition of the free annual event will take place on August 30, between 7pm and 10pm.
