Firefighters spent around three hours at the scene tackling the blaze at a house in the middle of the terraced row on Handley Road
A residential street was sealed off as emergency services responded to a terraced house fire.
Pictures from the scene show a cordon in place blocking entry to the street and at least four police vehicles also in attendance. Fire damage can be seen in an upstairs window of a house in the middle of the terraced row.
Firefighters spent around three hours at the scene tackling the blaze and used breathing apparatus, hose reels, ventilation units, a thermal imaging camera and a gas monitor. No details have been released about the cause of the fire or severity of the damage and there were no reports of neighbouring properties being evacuated.
In a statement, a LFRS spokesperson said: “At 18:33 on the 6th July 2022, two fire engines from Blackpool attended a domestic building fire on Handley Road, Blackpool. Firefighters wore breathing apparatus and used two hose reels, two ventilation units, a thermal imaging camera and a gas monitor to extinguish the fire.
“Crews were in attendance for approximately three hours.”
The incident comes after a separate house fire incident in the seaside town yesterday resulting in the tragic death of a woman in her 40s. A man in his 50s remains in a serious condition.
