The victim, a 14-year-old boy, was walking with two friends in Dinmore Avenue when he was approached by several boys at around 2.30pm on Wednesday, April 14.
He was reportedly punched to the ground before being kicked and stamped on the head. The victim also had a gold ring stolen during the attack.
The group then made off from the scene, leaving the victim with head and facial injuries, as well as a finger injury.
Following a number of enquiries, a 17-year-old boy and two 16-year-old boys were arrested on suspicion of robbery on Thursday, April 15.
They have since been released on bail until May 12.

Det Insp Abi Finch-Hall, of Blackpool CID, said: “This was a particularly shocking and violent robbery which we know has caused considerable anger and concern in the Grange Park community.
“We realise people will have strong views on the attack and may seek forms of retribution – I would encourage people not to do this and to allow us to do our jobs and investigate the matter fully.
“We have increased patrols in the area and I want to reassure residents this is very much an ongoing investigation.”
