In what’s now become something of a time honoured tradition, this year will see punk rockers descend on Blackpool in August.
Rebellion Festival, formerly known as Holidays in the Sun and Wasted Festival is a punk rock festival that was first held in Blackpool in 1996.
Now the largest independent punk festival in the UK, residents of the seaside resort have become accustomed to thousands of punks descend on the town each August.
Delving into the Getty photo archives, Lancs Live has unearthed photos taken in Blackpool during the festival in 2006, 2007 and 2009.
Below are 20 snaps of the festival goers building sandcastles, taking in the sea air, and enjoying the colourful family attractions the Golden Mile has to offer.
