Anyone with a fussy dog knows the frustration. You spend good money on a packet of treats only for your four-legged friend to sniff it once before walking away in disgust.

That’s been my experience with Rupert, my cockapoo, and Honey, my labradoodle.

Despite both loving food, they’re incredibly picky in completely different ways. Rupert happily munches fruit and vegetables, while Honey is a dedicated meat lover. Finding treats they’ll both enjoy normally means sticking to the same tried-and-tested options every time I visit the pet shop.

The British pet food brand offers a huge selection of natural dog treats, with subscriptions promising lower prices, free delivery and regular top-ups. The real question, though, was whether my notoriously fussy pair would actually eat them.

Normally, at least one variety would end up abandoned at the back of the cupboard.

This time, there wasn’t a single reject.

Over several days I worked through each packet with Rupert and Honey, using them during walks, training sessions and as rewards around the house. Every flavour disappeared without hesitation – something that’s almost unheard of in this house.

The wide choice also means there’s plenty to suit dogs of different ages, breeds and dietary needs, making it easy to build a bundle that fits your own pet.

However, subscribing cuts the price to £13.23, includes free delivery and allows you to choose exactly how often you receive your order.

For me, that’s where the value really shines.

Rather than making regular trips to the pet shop or discovering we’ve unexpectedly run out of treats, the cupboard stays stocked automatically. The savings aren’t enormous on a single order, but they quickly add up over time.

The biggest strength is the sheer variety.

Whether you’re looking for training treats, functional snacks or rewards aimed at specific health benefits, there’s an impressive amount of choice. Once you work out your dog’s favourites, it’s easy to create a regular delivery that suits them.

Most importantly, both Rupert and Honey genuinely loved every flavour – something I honestly wasn’t expecting.

The pricing is harder to justify if you don’t subscribe.

Once delivery is added, you’re paying more than £16 for six bags of treats, which is noticeably more expensive than buying similar quantities from discount retailers like B&M.

For shoppers who only want the occasional bag, that premium could be difficult to justify.

The subscription, however, changes the equation considerably, bringing the cost down to around £2 per bag while adding free delivery and rewards.

If your priority is buying the cheapest dog treats available, you’ll almost certainly find lower prices elsewhere.

For two dogs that usually turn their noses up at at least half the treats I buy, finishing every single bag is about as glowing a review as I could ask for.
